Any interest in Theia extension that allows you to test language plugin results directly

Hi! For the last couple of sprints I’ve been working on a Theia extension that allows you to test language plugins directly. The basic idea of this extension is that it exposes some api’s so that we can do something like:

provideCompletionItems(‘redhat.java’, …); .

and then get completion items from redhat.java on a given text document at a given position, basically allowing you to address one specific language plugin and get the results back.

Although it’s not fully complete, one way we will be using it on Eclipse Che is to check for regressions when upgrading versions of language plugins in the che plugin registry. This theia extension is currently a part of che-theia but I’m wondering if there is any interest in getting this upstreamed into theia.
