Does Theia support bidirectional support for languages like Arabic, Hebrew?

Hi ,

We are planning to add new language(Arabic) to our code editor which uses Theia 1.27.0. But we would like to know, Theia, in general supports bidirectional support for languages such as Arabic, Hebrew. VSCode offers limited support.

Does anyone know Theia supports it?

Hey @chid.crushev,

your link is specificially for a Visual Studio feature, not a VSCode one. As far as I know VSCode does not offer any bidirectional text support.

We align with VSCode in this regard, so there’s no builtin support for this. I’m quite unfamiliar with how the web specs deal with bidirectional text, so I don’t even know how easy it would be to add this to Theia.
