OpenVSX

https://open-vsx.org/ seems to have quite some plugins already. Is this public traction or did someone from the Theia community seed these? What’s the plan going forward to make open-vsx the place for all your vsix needs?

[original thread by Thomas Mäder]

@tsmaeder we already included some extensions that are generally useful (example-apps) and popular, and I believe that @marc-dumais included builtin extensions.

Correct. It was mentioned today that Red Hat maintainers are taking-over the open-vsx.org publishing of redhat.java, going forward. This will be encouraged, but in the meantime there is the nightly build done from the file Vince points, and individuals (anyone with a GH login) can also publish unclaimed extensions as they see fit

there was an Eclipse newsletter about it: https://www.eclipse.org/community/eclipse_newsletter/2020/march/1.php
