Port "Add Configuration..." to tasks

Would it be possible to have an “Add Task…” like the “Add Configuration…”? I know that there is a system of tasks.json templates but there is no way of adding a predefined task to an existing tasks.json file.

cc @elaihau Do you know how it should be done? How is it done in VS Code?

Tasks: Configured tasks… opens the tasks.json file if it exists. If the file doesn’t exist it prompts the user to create one by copying a template. Concerning VS Code I am not sure this feature even exists.
