Given the error message in the corner, it seems like the extension is looking for file called machine-id in var/lib/dbus/ and /etc/, but cannot find it. Does the extension work on the same system in vscode?
I don’t think we can do anything on Theia’s end in this regard, seems like it’s an extension/machine configuration issue. See also here.
